Guidance Center by As-Salaam Foundation
Empowering Youth Through Skill Development and Vocational Training
In its mission to uplift and empower underprivileged communities, the As-Salaam Foundation has established a dedicated Guidance Center — a hub for practical skill development, short-term vocational training, and career-oriented learning. The center aims to bridge the gap between education and employability by offering hands-on training in multiple trades that are in high demand across industries.
The Guidance Center caters to school dropouts, unemployed youth, women, and working individuals who seek to build practical skills and earn a sustainable livelihood. Through short-term certified courses, the center provides learners with real-world skills that enable them to start their own businesses, secure employment, or work as freelancers.
This course provides practical training in the repair and maintenance of domestic and commercial refrigeration systems. Students learn about compressors, gas filling, leakage detection, and common troubleshooting methods. Graduates can work in appliance service centers or run their own repair business.
Students gain hands-on experience in the installation, servicing, and repair of air conditioners. The course includes training on split and window AC systems, gas charging, electrical wiring, and seasonal maintenance.
A foundational course that covers domestic and industrial wiring, safety precautions, use of tools, reading of circuit diagrams, and installation of electrical systems. This course is ideal for those who wish to become licensed electricians or work in construction and maintenance.
Trainees learn the functioning, diagnosis, and repair of diesel engines used in vehicles and machinery. The course includes both theoretical and practical exposure, preparing students to work in garages, workshops, or transport companies.
Focused especially on women empowerment, this course teaches stitching techniques, machine operation, pattern cutting, and design basics. Learners can work in boutiques, start home-based tailoring businesses, or enter the garment industry.
This course covers essential computer knowledge including MS Office, email handling, data entry, and internet usage. It is designed to help students become digitally literate and apply for entry-level office or administrative jobs.
The center also facilitates Distance Education Support, helping students enroll in NIOS, IGNOU, or university correspondence courses. Regular guidance, exam preparation support, and doubt-solving sessions ensure these students don’t feel left behind while learning remotely.
The Guidance Center serves as a launchpad for self-reliance and dignity, especially for youth from economically weaker backgrounds. Every course is taught by experienced trainers and includes both theory and hands-on practice. Upon completion, students receive a certificate that can aid in job placement or self-employment.
With this initiative, As-Salaam Foundation reaffirms its commitment to community development through skill-based education. The center doesn’t just train — it transforms lives by giving people the power to earn, grow, and live with purpose.
